AL KHOR GAVEL CLUB

What we do!

We are the youth wing of Al Khor Toastmasters Club & a learning platform in proper communication for children above 11 ½ years. We encourage the art of public speaking & motivate and develop leadership skills by direct involvement. Regular meeting comprises of prepared speech speakers, speech evaluators, role players like Toastmaster of the Day, Grammarian, Ah Counter, Timer, Table Topic Master & Joke master.
A team of 7 gaveliers called “Helping Hands” run this Club for one year term holding the posts President, VP-Education, VP-Membership, VP-Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer & Sgt-at-Arms. The Club is open for all Community children to join and benefit. Different sessions like drama, humour & theme based sessions, bring out hidden talents of the children.

The sessions help them to speak with passion & display their confidence on stage in Community events without shyness. Preparing, practising & speaking relevantly within the specified time factor improves their general knowledge.

Sessions are always monitored by the mentor & feed back is provided through Helping Hands meetings, improving the performance of every gavelier. Parents involvement by attending the meetings does magic in the performance of the gavelier.

The Annual Club contest highlights what they have learnt as a result of attending these sessions.

How to join!

Must have completed 11 ½ years of age so that speech projects can be done after that. Membership is open for all interested Children from all Nationalities staying in the Al Khor Community. Parents are welcome to contact the Mentor Toastmaster for any query or clarification.
